TRINIDAD'S ANNUAL CARNIVAL

The MARACAS HIKE

The Hike to Maracas Bay begins in Santa Cruz valley and takes anywhere from two hours to complete.
The scenery is delightful the experience is best when accompanied by a tour guide. This particular time the Guide, Carver - begins the journey from the Waterville Estate. He points out a variety of plant and animal species along the trek.
The final reward is landing on the Maracas Beach - Trinidad's finest and most frequented coastline.

LOOK OUT POINT

If you go to MARACAS Beach by car, chances are that you will come across this spot first. It is called "Look Out Point" because it overlooks various bays on the coast toward the MARACAS Beach.
Look Out Point is also popular for the Locally made Sweets and Pickled Fruit that are sold. Trinidadians love a good taste of pepper and there is no shortage of this. While you pick and choose your way around the tents, you will encounter a charming fellow performing a music genre of generations past, refered to as Extempo.
Just give hime the topic, and for a small price he will rhyme his way for the length of a short song to your utter amusement.

Fun at the Queen's Park Savannah in Port of Spain...

The QUEEN'S PARK SAVANNAH is Trinidad's largest recreation grounds.
Here you will find Rugby Fields, Soccer and Cricket pitches, Track and Field Sand tracks and a running pavement that surrounds it.
If you are in need of a workout, just find your way to the savannah, then look for the game of your choice and ask if you can join in. No one is going to bite you, might as well try it out.

BRASSO SECO Eco Paradise

BRASSO SECO used to be an old COCOA producing Town. But as times changed and other countries like GHANA began producing cheaper Cocoa, BRASSO SECO discontinued what they considered to be much too labor intensive.
The Population has dwindled from a much more bustling town of yesteryear. But it is still a charming place that hosts Eco Tourists from all around the world - Mainly Hikers and Bird Watchers.

DOWN THE ISLANDS & SCOTLAND BAY

Going "Down the Islands" has always been one of the finer pleasures of Trinidadians - especially on Weekends and Holidays. Ani and Maren take the BROWN TOUR (Boat Charter) to a frequently visited spot called Scotland Bay.
